Poems: Shrunkenback to poem listing
I once found God living in my shoe
He looked at me and said: "Who are you?"
Said I, "well my name is Frankie."
"Well Frankie, can you help me please?"
"What's troubling you?" I did reply
"It seems I've shrunken down in size.
I know not how I got in here,
I heard a prayer, I smelt some fear.
I then looked down and lo and behold,
I'm staring from below your sole.
You almost squished me, didn't you know?
You really should look out below."
"Well sorry," said I, "for I did not see.
I never knew God to be so tiny."
He looked at me but never blinked,
he was thinking hard, or so I think.
I then reached down to pluck him out
when suddenly he gave a shout:
"I know how I got here, you prayed to me!"
"I did?" I said, "what did I need?"
"Something about your stinky shoes."
So I looked closer, strongly perused.
And there he was! Holding mop and bucket.
"It stinks in here Frankie, I'm just going to say...
bye!"
And he was gone, and so was my rhyme. |
