Poems: Old

back to poem listing

When growing old, some run and hide.
For me I wish to stay inside
and look all out at the world below
and with my wisdom think, and know.

Growing old is not a sin,
nor does it harm us within.
It's just a number that we use
to symbolize what we've been through.

There's nothing anyone can do
to stop this growing older doom.
So why not shall we all embrace
the added years onto our face?

So instead of running or learning to hide
I think we all should smile wide.
Growing old should feel real good.
I wouldn't change it even if I could.
